We are working on representing numbers in different ways with a focus on ten frames, dots and printing numerals. We began our learning with this fun video from Jack Hartmann as he sung about the many different ways you can show numbers.
How many different ways can you identify numbers?
We explored our understanding on how to represent numbers using three different types of manipulatives. Throughout the past few weeks we have played math games using tally marks, dice and dominoes.
Using our visual journals we were able to "show what we know" and represent numbers in many ways. Students selected their favourite number between 1-6 and challenged themselves to represent the number in as many ways as they can. Here are some examples of student work below :)
